German Yellowjacket

Body is brown with yellow markings on head and thorax, and bands on the abdomen. The markings on the abdomen are distinct for this species.

Nests may contain as many as 2,000 workers. They are often built in attics and wall cavities. Colonies usually last one year.

Habits. This species preys on a variety of arthropods. Most workers forage close to the nest site.
