Pharaoh Ant

Workers are yellowish brown to reddish brown. The segments of antennal club gradually increase in size to the end.

Nests indoors are in small secluded locations, such as in light switches, behind baseboards, and in cabinets. The nest sites are frequently moved.

Colony. These ants are active all year, and colonies can be large. New colonies are formed when a young queen and a small number of workers split from the parent colony.

Habits. Workers forage 24 hours a day and use chemical trails. Indoors, they feed on sweets, meat, grease, and a variety of other materials.
