Adults are dark brown to blackish brown and have a short, wide snout. These beetles do not fly. The larvae feed on plant roots. Adults emerge from May to July, and are present during the remainder of the warm season. When populations peak in spring and fall, adults enter houses and other buildings.
Habits. These short-nosed weevils can be present in large numbers around the perimeter of houses and other
buildings, and sometimes move inside. Adults are attracted to lights at night, and often enter buildings through windows and doors.
